Wed Mar 12 2008: RELEASE: After 19 years, the West Lorne Lakers are leaving the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA). "The Lakers will continue play in various forms at other venues outside the OHA," said team President Wayne Bedford. "It does not make sense to invest thousands of precious fundraising dollars per year into a bureaucracy that is no longer viable or accountable. We're hardly alone in terms of teams that were once proud members that in the last couple of years have lost confidence in the OHA Board and Executive."
Sun Mar 09 2008: In Mount Brydges the Bulldogs defeated the Lakers by a score of 5-4 in overtime in game 2 of the Best 4 out of 7 series. Matt Carmichael scored three goals for the Lakers while Oliver Shanks scored once. The Bulldogs scored the winning goal with 4:21 remaining in the first overtime period. James Langford was in goal for West Lorne.

Thu Feb 28 2008: In Lambeth the Lakers defeated the Lambeth Lancers by a score of 5-3 in Game 5 of the Best 4 out of 7 series. Ryan Campbell scored twice for the Lakers while Karl Schramowsky, Oliver Shanks, and Rhys Thornton scored once. Thornton scored the winning goal on a breakaway midway through the 3rd period while West Lorne was shorthanded. James Langford who was solid all series picked up the win in goal for the Lakers. Lambeth outshot West Lorne 42-30.
Wed Feb 27 2008: In West Lorne the Lambeth Lancers defeated the Lakers by a score of 5-3 in Game 4 of the Best 4 out of 7 series. Jairemy Easton, Matt Carmichael, and Oliver Shanks scored for the Lakers. Lambeth scored their fifth goal into an empty net. James Langford was in goal for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Lambeth 42-41.
Sun Feb 24 2008: In Lambeth the Lakers defeated the Lancers by a score of 6-4 in Game 3 of the Best 4 out of 7 series. Matt Willis scored twice for the Lakers while Matt Carmichael, Ryan Campbell, Rhys Thornton, and Jairemy Easton scored once. Willis also added three assists. James Langford picked up the win in goal for the Lakers. Lambeth outshot West Lorne 41-28.
Wed Feb 20 2008: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Lambeth Lancers by a score of 3-1 in Game 2 of the best 4 out of 7 series. Ryan Campbell scored twice for the Lakers and Oliver Shanks scored once. Shanks goal was into an empty net when the Lakers were ahead 2-1. James Langford played goal for West Lorne. Lambeth outshot the Lakers 31-24.
Sun Feb 17 2008: In Lambeth the Lakers defeated the Lancers by a score of 4-3 in Game One of the best 4 out of 7 series. Jairemy Easton, Rhys Thornton, Ryan Campbell, and Taylor Martin scored for West Lorne. Martin broke a 3-3 tie five minutes into the 3rd period when he picked up the puck from in tight and roofed it over the goaltender. James Langford was in goal for the Lakers. Lambeth outshot West Lorne 30-25.
Sat Feb 09 2008: In Thamesford the West Lorne Lakers defeated the Trojans by a score of 3-2 in a shootout. Rhys Thornton and Travis Wing scored for the Lakers. Josh Suhanji and Rhys Thornton scored for the Lakers in the shootout while both of the Trojans shooters were stopped on their attempts. James Langford picked up the win in goal for West Lorne.
Thu Feb 07 2008: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Exeter Hawks by a score of 6-2. Karl Schramowsky scored twice for West Lorne while Jonathan Cameron, Rhys Thornton, Travis Wing, and Matt Willis each scored once. The Lakers scored four power play goals and also had two shorthanded goals. James Langford picked up the win in goal for West Lorne. The Lakers outshot Exeter 46-30.
Sat Feb 02 2008: In Port Stanley the West Lorne Lakers defeated the Central Elgin Express 3-2 in a shootout. Karl Schramowsky and Rhys Thornton scored the for the Lakers. Matt Willis scored the shootout winner for West Lorne. James Langford picked up the win in goal for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Central Elgin 51-30.
Thu Jan 31 2008: The Lakers would like to congratulate defenceman Wes Kewley on being named the Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League rookie of the year for the Thomas Division.
Wed Jan 30 2008: In West Lorne the Mount Brydges Bulldogs defeated the Lakers by a score of 3-2. Matt Bunoza and Rhys Thornton scored for West Lorne. James Langford was in goal for the Lakers. Mount Brydges outshot West Lorne 36-32.
Wed Jan 23 2008: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Lambeth Lancers by a score of 4-3 in a shootout. Matt Carmichael, Rhys Thornton, and Karl Schramowsky scored for West Lorne. Josh Suhanji scored the shootout winner. James Langford picked up the win in goal for the Lakers. Lambeth outshot West Lorne 37-27.
Sat Jan 19 2008: At the All Star Game in Lucan on Saturday night the McConnell Conference outscored the Yeck Conference by a score of 10-9. West Lorne defenceman Jeff Boyd had one assist for the Yeck conference while Lakers forward Rhys Thornton scored two goals and added one assist. Thornton won a scholarship to the OHA high performance hockey camp in London which takes place in June for his play in the all star game. Congratulations to both players on a great game.
Fri Jan 18 2008: In Thamesford the Lakers defeated the Trojans by a score of 6-5 in a shootout. Matt Willis scored three times for the Lakers while Matt Carmichael and Karl Schramowsky each scored once. Josh Suhanji and Rhys Thornton scored for West Lorne in the shootout while Thamesford scored once. James Langford picked up the win in goal for the Lakers. Thamesford outshot West Lorne 45-41.
Wed Jan 16 2008: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the North Middlesex Stars by a score of 4-3. Ryan Campbell scored twice for the Lakers while Jairemy Easton and Matt Willis each scored once. Campbell scored the winning goal on a wrist shot from the slot with 1:34 remaining in the game. James Langford stopped a penalty shot with 53 seconds remaining to pick up the win in goal. Both teams fired 35 shots on goal.
Fri Jan 11 2008: In Port Stanley the West Lorne Lakers defeated the Central Elgin Express 4-2. Matt Willis scored twice for the Lakers while Matt Bunoza and Matt Carmichael each scored once. James Langford was in goal for West Lorne. The Lakers outshot the Express 49-21.
Wed Jan 09 2008: In Lucan the Lakers defeated the Irish by a score of 4-3. Rhys Thornton, Matt Willis, Tyler Smith, and Ryan Campbell scored for West Lorne. Joe Bolzonello and Wes Kewley each added two assists. Josh McAllister picked up the win in goal for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Lucan 39-36.
Tue Jan 08 2008: The Lakers are pleased to announce that forward Rhys Thornton has been added to play in the all star game on Jan 19 in Lucan along with defenceman Jeff Boyd.
Sun Jan 06 2008: In Lambeth the Lancers defeated the Lakers by a score of 5-1. Karl Schramowsky scored the only goal for West Lorne. James Langford was in goal for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Lambeth 31-30.
Fri Jan 04 2008: In Exeter the Hawks defeated the Lakers by a score of 7-5. Steve Kewley, Oliver Shanks, Ryan Campbell, Travis Wing, and Rhys Thornton scored for West Lorne. The Lakers trailed 6-2 in the 3rd period before scoring three straight goals to narrow the defecit to one. Exeter scored their seventh goal into an empty net. Josh McAllister started in goal for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Exeter 38-33.
Wed Jan 02 2008: In West Lorne the Mount Brydges Bulldogs defeated the Lakers by a score of 6-1. The loss put an end to the Lakers three game win streak. Jairemy Easton scored the only goal for West Lorne. James Langford was in goal for the Lakers. Mount Brydges outshot West Lorne 40-24.
Sat Dec 29 2007: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Mitchell Hawks by a score of 8-3. Ryan Campbell and Oliver Shanks each scored twice for West Lorne while Steve Kewley, Matt Willis, Josh Suhanji, and Matt Bunoza each scored once. James Langford picked up the win in goal for the Lakers. Mitchell outshot West Lorne 42-29.
Fri Dec 28 2007: In Port Stanley the Lakers defeated the Central Elgin Express 3-2 in overtime. Matt Willis, Jonathan Cameron, and Oliver Shanks scored for West Lorne. Shanks scored the winning goal when he banged in a rebound with 3:48 remaining in overtime. James Langford was solid in goal for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Central Elgin 48-36.
Sat Dec 22 2007: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Lambeth Lancers by a score of 7-4. Matt Willis and Ryan Campbell scored two goals each for the Lakers while Josh Suhanji, Karl Schramowsky, and Ben Schnekenburger scored once. Josh McAllister picked up the win in goal for West Lorne. The Lakers and Lancers each had 43 shots on goal.

Wed Dec 19 2007: In West Lorne the Mitchell Hawks defeated the Lakers by a score of 2-1 in overtime. Mitchell took a 1-0 lead with two minutes remaining in the 1st period. The Lakers scored ten seconds later on a goal by Jonathan Cameron. Karl Schramowsky made a nice pass to Cameron in the slot who tied the score at 1-1. The Hawks scored the winning goal with four seconds remaining in overtime. James Langford was in goal for the Lakers. Mitchell outshot West Lorne 36-29.
Sun Dec 16 2007: Sat Dec 15: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Lucan Irish by a score of 6-5. Lucan jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the 1st period but the Lakers mounted a tremendous comeback. Travis Wing, Taylor Martin, Rhys Thornton, Oliver Shanks, Matt Willis, and Ryan Campbell scored for West Lorne. Campbell scored the winning goal midway through the 3rd period when he slid the puck under the goaltender. Defenceman Josh Suhanji had two assists and forward Matt Carmichael had one assist in their Laker debuts. Goaltender James Langford picked up the win in relief for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Lucan 30-22.
Sun Dec 02 2007: Sat Dec 1: In Parkhill the Lakers defeated the North Middlesex Stars by a score of 7-5. Taylor Martin and Matt Willis each scored twice for West Lorne while Ryan Campbell, Ryan Berger, and Jairemy Easton each scored once. Josh McAllister picked up the win in goal for the Lakers.
Thu Nov 29 2007: Wed Nov 28: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Exeter Hawks by a score of 5-2. Ryan Berger scored twice for West Lorne while Taylor Martin, Matt Bunoza and Ryan Campbell each scored once. James Langford picked up the win in goal for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Exeter 43-34.

Thu Nov 15 2007: Wed Nov 14: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Central Elgin Express by a score of 5-1. Matt Bunoza, Oliver Shanks, Ryan Campbell, Tyler Smith, and Rhys Thornton scored for West Lorne. Matt Willis added three assists. Josh McAllister picked up the win in goal for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Central Elgin 47-27.

Fri Oct 26 2007: In Exeter the Hawks defeated the Lakers 5-4 in a shootout. Matt Willis scored twice for the Lakers while Karl Schramowsky and Oliver Shanks each scored once. After 5 minutes of scoreless overtime Exeter scored once in the shootout while the Lakers went 0 for 3. James Langford was in goal for West Lorne.
Wed Oct 24 2007: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Lambeth Lancers by a score of 1-0. Oliver Shanks tipped in a pass from Karl Schramowsky with 3 minutes remaining in the 1st period for the game winning goal. James Langford picked up his 2nd shutout in as many games for the Lakers. West Lorne outshot Lambeth 37-32.
Sat Oct 20 2007: In Mitchell the Lakers defeated the Hawks by a score of 3-0. Travis Wing, Karl Schramowsky, and Matt Willis scored for the Lakers. Wing scored the game winner on a breakaway off a nice pass from Jeff Boyd with 2:52 remaining in the 2nd period. James Langford was outstanding in goal for the Lakers which included a breakaway save in the 2nd period. Mitchell outshot West Lorne 31-30.
Fri Oct 19 2007: In Thamesford the Trojans defeated the Lakers by a score of 5-3. Travis Wing scored twice for the Lakers and Steve Kewley scored once. Josh McAllister was in goal for West Lorne. The Lakers outshot the Trojans 42-38.
Wed Oct 17 2007: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Central Elgin Express by a score of 5-3. Travis Wing, Matt Willis, Ben Schnekenburger, Matt Bunoza, and Ryan Campbell scored for West Lorne. With the Lakers ahead 4-3 goaltender James Langford stopped a penalty shot midway through the 3rd period. Central Elgin outshot West Lorne 42-40.
Sun Oct 07 2007: In Parkhill the North Middlesex Stars defeated the Lakers by a score of 3-1. Karl Schramowsky scored for West Lorne. The Stars third goal was into an empty net. Josh McAllister played a solid game in goal in his Lakers debut. North Middlesex outshot West Lorne 34-19.
Sat Oct 06 2007: In West Lorne the Lakers defeated the Lucan Irish by a score of 4-1. Tyler Smith, Ryan Campbell, Matt Willis, and Karl Schramowsky scored for the Lakers. West Lorne's fourth goal was into an empty net. James Langford played a great game in goal for the Lakers. Lucan outshot West Lorne 37-32.

Sat Sep 15 2007: In West Lorne the Lambeth Lancers defeated the West Lorne Lakers by a score of 6-4. Ben Schnekenburger, Jairemy Easton, Matt Willis, and Jeff Boyd scored for the Lakers. Matt Fieder was in goal for West Lorne.
Fri Sep 14 2007: In Thamesford the Lakers and Trojans skated to a 4-4 tie. Ryan Campbell and Matt Willis each scored twice for West Lorne. Travis Wing had two assists. James Langford was in goal for the Lakers.
Sun Sep 09 2007: In Port Stanley the Lakers opened the exhibition season with a 3-3 tie against the Central Elgin Express. Jairemy Easton scored the only goal of the 1st period to put the Lakers ahead 1-0. Central Elgin scored three second period goals to lead 3-1 before Matt Bunoza scored to narrow the defecit to 3-2 after two periods. Tyler Smith scored on a breakaway while shorthanded with three minutes remaining in the game to tie the score at 3-3. The teams played a scoreless five minute overtime period. Matt Fieder, Andrew Baird, and James Langford played goal for the Lakers. Both Fieder and Langford held Central Elgin scoreless.

Thu Aug 16 2007: Congratulations to former Assistant Captain Derek Daypuck on being named to the Canadian Rugby Team which will be participating in the World Cup of Rugby this year.
